Writing 101 -- The basics of writing fiction for new, aspiring authors. Includes mistakes to avoid, how to format a manuscript, plotting, characterization, and dialogue. (For new writers who are writing their first manuscript or starting the editing process of a completed manuscript.)

Publishing 101 -- The basics of how the publishing industry works. The process of preparing a proposal to submit to agents and editors, types of responses to expect, length of waiting time, contract negotiations, and marketing oneself. (For authors who have just finished their first book and who would like to begin the process of submitting their work.)

Marketing 101 -- The basics of how to begin to promote oneself as a serious writer/author. Includes print and online promotion, networking, public relations, using a publicist, and the importance of building a platform before you're even published. (For writers who are currently seeking publication and/or newly contracted authors, who for published authors seeking ideas on how to expand their platform.)

Creating the Emotional Heartbeat of a Story -- This workshop concentrates on how to show character emotion to engage the readers' feelings as they experience the story. Writers will learn how to incorporate the senses experiences in a creative way to invoke realism and make readers care about the characters. Emphasis will include showing rather than telling, deep POV, powerful dialogue, and the power of word choice. (For intermediate writers who are beyond the basics and who want to carry their skills to the next level.

Building an Online Platform with Impact -- If you are blogging and never receive comments, your following base doesn't grow, and ranking numbers in the search engines are stagnant, then this is the workshop for you. The content covers why you need an online platform, how to maximize your blogging efforts, increase traffic, comments and online interaction. Social network sites are included such as how to best utlize Facebook, Twitter, Shoutlife, Shelfari, etc. And answers the question of why you still need a website if you have a blog.

Digging Deep into POV -- Still confused about POV? This workshop discusses the various character points of view, head hopping, and how to make the reader feel as if they are inside the character's mind, feeling what the character is feeling, rather than reading about a character's actions.

The Agent Search--It's All About Faith -- Jennifer shares lessons she's learned from the three agents she's had, where to find an agent, how to approach an agent, how to pitch to an agent, submitting a proposal, and vital signs to look out for when dealing with an agent.
