(Series ideas available, but not listed here)

Catherine Oakes is caught in a whirlwind between her father, her fiancé, and the new attorney in town, Jacob Hodson. When her father decides to free a slave on his plantation, the small southern town of Hartsville protests the action in court. Jacob defends him, while Ferreby leads the town’s cause to improve his political career. Catherine is forced to choose sides.

Jacob shows her what it’s like to be cared for, to share in common interests, and how to be herself. But Ferreby wants her back, and Jacob fears losing her. Can their fragile relationship survive their insecurities, while a family secret is revealed, a little girl found, and runaway slaves stir up more controversy? Will God’s guidance bring them together, or does His perfect will lie on separate paths?
