~ About the Author~

Jennifer Lynn Hudson was born in Greensboro, NC as the first of four children to Bennie Lee Hudson and Janice Robbins Hudson. Always a voracious reader with a vivid imagination, she was thrilled when her aunt introduced her to a box of 30 Harlequin romances at the age of twelve. Jennifer quickly devoured those books, ran out of things to read, and it was then she decided to write the next Gone With the Wind. She handwrote half the story in a spiral notebook. Eventually she tossed it in a drawer and abandoned the project through her busy teenage years. She graduated from Elon University with a B.A. in Communications/Journalism in 1993 and married Dwayne Taylor that summer. Never one to completely abandon a project, she pulled out her old manuscript and finished it at the age of 25. It was the first book she boldly pitched to a Berkley editor at her first RWA Conference in Dallas in 1996.

In 1997 their daughter, Celina Lynn Taylor, was born with a life-threatening seizure disorder. There were serious complications and numerous visits to the hospital. Celina’s dad performed CPR on her eight times that year. Celina is now ten and has outgrown her seizures, but Jennifer gives God the glory for her healing. Celina does have some delayed development and has been diagnosed with Sensory Integration Disorder and Attention Deficit Disorder. Based on North Carolina's education laws, Celina received an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) to help her learn and cope at her own pace in school. Jennifer and Dwayne are very proud of their daughter and are thrilled to see how much progress and improvement she continues to make each year.

In August 2000 Jennifer was laid off from work and ended up freelance writing to make ends meet. This gave her experience in marketing her writing talents. In 2002, Jennifer helped her husband begin a fire extinguisher service business, Good News Fire Safety Services. During this time there were many sacrifices and struggles. All these experiences drew her closer to the Lord as she leaned upon Him and sought comfort in His Word. It seemed only natural that she should consider writing Christian fiction. So after a three-year break from writing, Jennifer made the decision to write Christian fiction in 2006.
